The Story of Art from the Greenhouse
Art from the Greenhouse was founded by local Northern Irish artist, Tracey Doherty who specialises in water colours. She paints in her studio in the greenhouse overlooking the beautiful Strangford lough. Tracey, who is a keen supporter of the environment and the protection of wildlife, focuses on images of wild birds and other wildlife. She rescues animals and cares for four sheep, eight chickens and two dogs.
About the Artist
Tracey is an artist with a talent for painting wildlife water colours. She finds her inspiration from the beautiful surroundings of Strangford Lough in Northern Ireland close to where she lives and works in her studio ‘in the greenhouse’.
Tracey has had an interest in protecting the environment and safeguarding wildlife all of her life and supports numerous animal charities. She rescues and cares for a range of animals including sheep, dogs and her battery hens, including Myrtle, who features in the company logo.
Tracey’s artistic journey was inspired by her mother, an interest shared by her daughters and granddaughter.
Although self taught, Tracey's eye for fine detail was improved under the guidance of her mentor, a renowned local Northern Irish artist.
With every original work or print sold, a donation is made to a local wildlife charity to help rescue the animals and birds she is so passionate about.
